What People Say - Testimonials

Scope"I've found Global Adventure Challenges to be a first class provider and extremely helpful when setting up Challenge Events - their attention to detail and knowledge of event fundraising is what them makes different to other operators. They're always willing to go the extra mile to help us make our events a success. SCOPE are very pleased to repeat the Zambezi Blast Challenge in 2008, in addition to launching an India Motorcycle Challenge - both through GAC."

Gwen Pearson, SCOPE Partnerships/Events Manager

Everest BasecampSteven SweetI'm back from the Everest Base Camp Trek, in one piece, thanks to Dawa who beyond the call of duty helped me to complete the challenge. He was a Doctor, Mother, Father, Teacher, Guide and an excellent ambassador of his country, and for Global Adventure Challenges. He was also a hero.....I don't know if you have heard, about the helicopter crash while we were on the Trek - he and some of us Trekkers assisting, got three survivors from the top of the mountain to the safety of a lodge before they were rescued by another helicopter - he done all this in his stride and much more. Also, I must say that the rest of his crew were brilliant. I would not hesitate in recommending this man to anyone who wanted to trek in Nepal. I know it must sound a bit over the top but it really is justly deserved.

Steven Sweet - Everest Basecamp 2008

The Grand Canyon ExperienceHi I am just back from the grand canyon adventure 2007. I just wanted to thank you and the expedition leader Brian Jackson. it was very good and everyone had so much fun. Brian was very helpful, kind, always there when you needed him and always had a smile on his face when the challenge got tough. he encouraged people to do there best, before I went I was scared of water but with his help I was jumping of waterfalls, something I never though I would do.

Once again thanks for giving me and the group a gentleman and a true professional at his job.

Samantha Musleh - Grand Canyon 2007

Trek BrazilA belated, but sincere thank you for everything you did to organise a really successful trip to Brazil. Just like Peter last year in the Artic, Cheryl was an absolutely excellent guide and I can thoroughly commend her for any future treks.

As I say, the event was wonderfully organised and the Global team, together with the local guides worked really well together and made it a fantastic experience.

Marc Saunderson - Trek Brazil - September 2007

Louise Linn - Grand CanyonThe Grand Canyon ExperienceGot back from the Canyon the other week and had an amazing time!! I really enjoyed myself and the trip was a great experience in a part of the world I had never been to. The 2 leaders of our trek - Angie and Blake, were fantastic and looked after us really well. I am still going to undertake further Challenges and am trekking in Morocco next year.

Louise Linn - Grand Canyon - September 2007

Trek BrazilA belated but big thanks to all at Global for your support for the trek itself and our extension. The national park was really special, the accommodation fantastic, Cheryl a great choice. Milton and the other guides were great and we all got on really well in the group.
Rio was fab and our extension in Saquarema was just right - would recommend the Ituana Inn to anyone travelling near Rio.

Mary Robertson - Trek Brazil - September 2007

Karl Shields - Peruvian Inca TrailPeruvian Inca Trail ChallengeI wanted to take the time to thank you for your part in organising the Yorkshire Cancer Research Inca Trail Trek in June this year.

I can safely say I had one of the best times of my life and that was assisted by the professional, knowledgeable support I received from Global Adventure Challenges from the moment of first booking, through to setting off home. The time taken by the Global Adventure team prior to departure, explaining what to expect was really helpful in preparation and critically for me this was from their personal experience of actually doing the challenge themselves rather than just what they read in a book.

That sort of experience really helps. Also having a representative of Global in country, both in transit in Lima and along the whole of the trek was great, and I'm sure they would have been invaluable had we had any problems, which thankfully we didn't. This has been a bit longer than I expected but you did a great job and I wanted you, and anyone considering a trip with you, to know it.

Karl Shields - Peruvian Inca Trail - June 2007

Trek BrazilI have just returned from Trek Brazil and wanted to say what a fantastic time we all had. Milton and co were wonderful hosts and the trekking was hard but very enjoyable and challenging, but what wonderful scenery!!!

Cheryl was a good team leader, and I think you should send her to Lapland sometime in the future as she seemed very interested asking me and my fellow trekkers about it.

Once again thanks for the wonderful experience.

WHERE TO NEXT??? I think Africa beckons !!!!!

Richard Warburton - Trek Brazil - September 2007

Yorkshire Cancer Research"I have spoken to most of the participants who went on the Peru Trek; they all seemed to have a fantastic time! However, my reason for mentioning this was to tell you that I have had very positive feedback about Global Adventure Challenges staff; so I want to thank you and your team for looking after everyone so brilliantly. Please pass on my thanks to the personnel who attended this particular challenge."

Sally Crerar, Head of Community Fundraising, Yorkshire Cancer Research

Well, we have been and come back, WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was even better than any photos can show.

Thanks to everyone at Global Adventure Challenges for making such a trip possible.

Andrew Holwerda - Lapland - The Husky Trail

This was the 6th event I've been on, supporting Medequip4kids, and I must say that the organisation of Global Adventure Challenges has been excellent.  You have been so supportive and helpful; I must be the biggest worrier there is; yet you kept me calm and help me over every problem.

Please pass on my special thanks to Teri Bexon, our Expedition Leader who was outstanding in every respect. She's a fantastic person, giving attention to every detail to make the event as pleasurable as possible for each and every participant.

Thanks to everyone at Global Adventure Challenges in helping to make my trek up Kilimanjaro such as memorable experience.

Mrs Elizabeth Stones, Kilimanjaro - The Machame Trail.

I have been meaning to write to you ever since we got back from The Husky Trail, but perhaps it is no bad thing that it has taken me so long to write, as after a year I still feel that this was without doubt, one of the best weeks of my life.

I was very excited, and a bit apprehensive of the unknown before we went, but it was brilliant. I loved the huskies, the snow, the camping and even the cold -not everyone's cup of tea I know, but it suited me.

It was truly an adventure and an experience I will never forget, and finishing up at the Ice Hotel was the icing on the cake. I still find people are very interested in my experience when they find out what I have done, and I never miss an opportunity to promote Global Adventure Challenges.

I feel that age might go against me, but think I have proved that with the right training and the OK from my doctor, plus bags of enthusiasm, almost anything is possible.

Well Pete, it just remains for me to wish you well in all that you have planned for the future, and to hope that everyone enjoys themselves as much as I did on The Husky Trail 2006.

Linda Williams, Lapland - The Husky Trail.

Bob Heredge @ the Summit of KilimanjaroAt the age of 56yrs and retired, Mt Kilimanjaro was to be my once in a lifetime experience, and what an amazing experience it was! I've got so many memories that will stay with me forever. The organisation by Global was first class. Tanzania, the people and the culture was captivating. The trek to Uhuru, the summit of the highest stand alone mountain in the world, was tough but very rewarding. Teri Bexon ,our Global challenge leader led by example. The camaraderie amongst our group was incredible and with the support of the porters, the chef, the doctor, the guides and lots of encouragement and help made the ascent to the summit possible.

A once in a lifetime experience......hang on.....I have only one lifetime, I want more!! Get me the number for Global!!

Bob Heredge - Kilimanjaro, The Machame Trail

Adrian Sullivvan - India Motorcycle Challenge, 16th - 24th October 2005India Motorcycle ChallengeThis was my first big challenge that I have ever taken on; being only 20 years old this is the first step of a wider set of challenges that I will take on in the future.

I probably speak for the rest of the group to say that Matt Barratt (our Global Rep), Jiten, Jitender and the rest of the backup crew were absolutely fantastic, even when I wrecked my Enfield several times during the week including the gearbox a couple of times and they had to spend the whole night getting it fixed - they were enormously helpful!

The only thing I can say “I expected the challenge to be hard, it definitely was”. Just sitting in the mini-van going through the streets of Amritsar was positively an eye opener to what the driving is like in the U.K, but once we got on the roads we were part of that crazy traffic and constantly on the horns just like the locals.

I would recommend this challenge to friends and family. Above and beyond achieving what I have at the age of 20, and helping to keep Marie Curie Cancer Care up and running. I now can’t wait to see what Global has pushed me to do in the future “hmmm motorcycling around the world” now that’s a challenge to consider.

Further more I would probably consider this again perhaps in 2 years times. So Matt…… get that Enfield fixed for me J.

Adrian Sullivan, Brighton - India Motorcycle Challenge.

Peruvian Inca Trail ChallengeSue Hardy, Peruvian Inca Trail, May 2005The Peruvian Inca Trail was my first challenge, it was very hard going at times but very rewarding with magnificent scenery, the trip well exceeded my expectations, best experience ever!

We got excellent support from Janet Croker our Global Adventure Challenges Group Leader and also the porters who carried our food/tents/chairs etc and just about everything to make life on the trail as reasonably comfortable as possible, even the bowl of warm water they provided everyone with at the end of each days trek was a welcome relief for our tired feet, wonderful.

I have no hesitation in recommending the trek with Global Adventure Challengers who did a wonderful job organising the trip, accommodation, hotels and transfers etc.

Besides achieving a personal ambition, this was an excellent way to raise funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice. I can’t wait to do another fund raising challenge, and hope to trek in the Grand Canyon next year.

Sue Hardy, Peruvian Inca Trail Challenge.

Everest BasecampRoy Holmes and David Woods, Everest Basecamp, April 2005One of our friends said to us just before we left that this was going to be a “once in a lifetime experience – unless we go back!” Now, after seeing the spectacular sights of the Himalaya and meeting the wonderful Nepalese people, it’s fair to say we are both hooked, and will definitely be back!

The trekking was generally not too strenuous, until we started getting above 4,500m (around 15,000ft). By here the altitude began to take its toll, and the final days trekking, to Base Camp itself, proved especially tough. Whilst this was difficult, and cold, it did help to give a great sense of achievement when we finally reached our goal.

Big thanks to Global Adventure Challenges for making our trip so memorable, and The Thistle Foundation (our nominated charity) for providing us with their support. We went to Nepal anticipating wonderful scenery (which didn't disappoint), but came home more in love with the Sherpa people. Our guides had so much knowledge of the area, I don't think there was a question we asked that they couldn't answer. I've now made several friends for life, and made money for our favourite local charity too, thank you all so much!

An experience of a lifetime? Definitely, but not somewhere you can only visit once…

Roy Holmes and David Woods, Everest Base Camp.

Lindsay Hall & Debbie Ward, South African Cape Challenge, October 2004Cape Challenge In South AfricaThis was the first challenge that we had taken part in - and hopefully the first of many! The trip was fantastic! The days were tough but being in such a beautiful setting made it all worth while - as well as the celebrations in the evenings!!

On the day that we went cycling, which was the toughest day by far - we got the opportunity to see lots of baboons - and the scenery along the coast was stunning!

The best day for us was the Cedarberg mountain range and climbing through the cracks of the mountain!! A tough day hiking but it was brilliant. The whole trip was really well organised, with excellent guides to give us lots of local knowledge, and extra motivation when required! Just wish we could have stayed longer. Doing this challenge for charity made it all the more rewarding, knowing that the children from Claire House will benefit with all the money that we raised.

Thanks again for organising this for us......

Lindsay Hall & Debbie Ward, Cape Challenge in South Africa.

Teena Douglass Taylor - Grand Canyon Experience, 2004The Grand Canyon Experience“The Grand Canyon was my first challenge and is without doubt one of the most exciting things I have ever done - the enjoyment surpassed expectations from start to finish.

The Grand Canyon itself has stunning scenery and waterfalls, and to camp within the Havasupai Indian reservation is a privilege not available to most.

The challenge is well-organised and the guides are informative and so hard-working, they ensure your safety and comfort at all times.  The support and friendship of like-minded people made this a memorable week. The sense of personal achievement and in helping my chosen charity is overwhelming.

A fantastic trip of a lifetime? Definitely…. but now I can’t wait to do another!!!”

Teena Douglass Taylor, Grand Canyon Experience.

Louise Lin - Borneo the Ultimate Challenge, April 2004Borneo The Ultimate ChallengeOur Global representative was very experienced, knowledgeable and really supportive in helping people to complete the challenges.

The Global ground crew couldn’t be more helpful - nothing was too much to ask, they were such wonderful people.  Without their support the challenges would be impossible!

This is something I have never done before in my life – very tough, but most rewarding.

Now having done Borneo, I am inspired to have a go at another challenge!

Louise Lin, Borneo Challenge.

Guy Rippon - Borneo the Ultimate Challenge, September 2003Borneo the Ultimate ChallengeThis was my fourth such charity challenge and I have to say the most enjoyable & challenging by far. I was looking for a challenge and Borneo provided it. The mountain climb was a physical and mental challenge, and at 0330 hrs in the morning begged the question...why, but on reaching the peak I knew the answer.

The first day of cycling was gruelling and tested my levels of fitness, but the enthusiasm of everyone spurred you on.

Our Global Group Leader, Teri made all the difference and added that special personal touch.

It was a great event, superb location with fantastic people.

Guy Rippon, Borneo Challenge.

Mark Philips – Borneo the Ultimate Challenge, September 2003Borneo the Ultimate ChallengeThe Borneo challenge was fantastic!  A once in a lifetime experience.

Not only did I manage to raise loads of money for my chosen charity, but I pushed myself to the limit whilst having fun - it's a bizarre conception!

I met some fantastic people each with there own amazing story to tell!  I got to see a part of Borneo I didn't know existed as well as finding a part of me I'm pleased I found!

Excellently organised, a great team and the experience of a  lifetime !!

GO AND DO IT !!!

 Mark Philips, Borneo Challenge.
