The north is
Mediterranean and the south is subtropical. The sea and
the mountains help to maintain a pleasant climate: the
winters are mild and the summers are dry. Rain falls
mostly in winter and the mountain peaks are covered with
snow most of year.
In the desert rainfall is very low and unpredictable.
The daytime temperatures are very high but the nights
can be extremely cold.
